Back on the road, we came to a quaint, general store just in time for a snowball fight!

Southern hospitality is no myth! Notice the silver car stopping traffic so we could get a good shot of the Palace Theater in Crossville.

Just when we thought we'd seen the most beautiful farmland ever . . .

While in Whitwell, hunger struck, and we wandered into Johnny's Hook N Grill for lunch. After noticing the drive-thru, our expectations plummeted, but we were really hungry. Lunch was delicious! The fish tacos with light, crispy homemade shells were perfect, and the cheeseburger was a solidly good burger. It would be great to have this kind of drive-thru closer to home!

Headed to Pickett Memorial State Park

The star of this trip was absolutely the journey along TN-28 N/US-127 N! During the peak of fall color, a light snow came through just before we began our journey up the Highway from I24, just west of Chattanooga (exit 155.)
